A Morning of Family and Tradition
Three years ago, Daisy and Enoch met at school. Between Enoch's graduate studies in cancer research and Daisy's work in speech therapy, their paths brought them together and eventually led to a wedding day filled with love, family, and tradition.
With a move to Calgary on the horizon, their wedding wasn't just a celebration of everything that brought them together. It was also the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
The day began at Daisy's family home in North York, where she got ready with her mother, sister, and loved ones.
After a first look with her bridesmaids, Daisy shared another special first-look moment with Enoch and their family before gathering for a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.
I love photographing tea ceremonies because they're filled with little moments of connection. Between serving tea, sharing smiles, and honouring family members, there's so much meaning in the smallest gestures.
And with another tea ceremony planned for Enoch's family later in the day, both sides had their own opportunity to participate in this meaningful tradition.
Saying “I Do” Surrounded by Loved Ones
From North York, we headed to Scarborough Chinese Alliance Church, where Daisy and Enoch exchanged vows surrounded by their community.
With a large gathering of family, friends, and loved ones, their church ceremony was an important part of their celebration.
Afterward, we captured family portraits and group photographs before everyone gathered for lunch.
One of my favourite things about weddings like this is seeing just how many people have been part of a couple's journey. From close relatives to friends and community members, every familiar face adds another piece to their story.
Wedding Portraits at Sheraton Parkway
The afternoon continued at Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel in Richmond Hill, where we made time for creative portraits before the reception.
With four bridesmaids and four groomsmen, there was plenty of personality to bring into the wedding party photographs.
We also carved out time for Daisy and Enoch to enjoy a few moments together, away from the busy schedule.
After their portraits, the couple gathered with Enoch's family for the second tea ceremony, followed by cocktail hour and time with their guests.
A Celebration of Two Families and a New Beginning
The evening reception brought everyone together for a grand entrance, cake cutting, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of opportunities to capture candid moments with family and friends.
Rather than including every traditional reception activity, Daisy and Enoch chose the elements that mattered most to them.
What made their wedding memorable wasn't just the beautiful venues or carefully planned celebrations. It was the way they honoured their families, their faith, and the people who supported them along the way.
From meeting at school to celebrating their marriage in Toronto, Daisy and Enoch were preparing to begin their next adventure together in Calgary.
A new city, a new chapter, and a lifetime of memories still to come.
